Vampires a Popular Theme This Month

There are some great Urban Fantasy novels coming out this month, so fans of the genre will have lots to choose from when selecting their upcoming reads. The whole array of supernatural beings are accounted for, from the fae to angels to vampires, and this month seems to have a predominance of new vampire books coming out, so it seems readers aren't tiring of those creatures of the night just yet. The following are some recommended picks for September.

New Urban Fantasy for September 2011

Archangel's Blade by Nalini Singh. Singh's archangel series straddles the line between urban fantasy and paranormal romance, and the adventures of her heroine Elena make for addictive reading. However this book focuses on the vampire Dmitri, who is investigating the discovery of a severed head baring distinctive tattoo markings. Dmitri is teamed with Guild Hunter Honor, who has just survived a brutal attack, to decipher the markings. (Release date, Sept. 6th)

Wayfinder by CE Murphy. Lara Janson is a reserved young tailor living in Boston who one day encounters a faerie prince called Dafyyd who tells her he can help solve her brother's murder. Lara must follow Dafyyd into Faerie in order to unravel the mystery, but here her life is threatened and the only thing that will help her survive is her ability to speak the truth. (Release date, Sept. 6th)

Bloodstone by Nancy Holzner. Victory Vaughn is Boston's only professional demon slayer and Deadtown is the city's quarantined area for its undead residents. When dead human bodies begin showing up all over the respectable South End, Victory is determined to discover what's going on, and all evidence is pointing towards a supernatural culprit. (Release date, Sept. 27th)

Spider's Revenge by Jennifer Estep. Gin Blanco, nickname the Spider, is an assassin for hire and on a mission to kill the Fire Elemental who murdered her entire family when she was just thirteen. The only problem is that Gin's target knows shes coming for her and has hired an army of bounty hunters to track her down. (Release date, Sept. 27th)

In Blood We Trust by Christine Cody. This novel tells the story of two monsters, Mariah the reluctant rebel and Gabriel the vampire who loves her. Both have returned to the Bloodland to face the horrors of Mariah's past and Gabriel's uncertain future. Here they will make a stand for their lives and for each other. (Release date, Sept. 27th)

Blood Rights by Kristen Painter. Chrysabelle's skin has the mark of the comarre, a breed of humans who feed vampire nobility. But somebody murders her patron and now she is the prime suspect, and so Chrysabelle must flee to the human world in order to escape punishment. Here she meets the outcast vampire Malkolm who is cursed to kill all those from whom he drinks. (Release date, Sept. 27th)
